Slumpy's announces the release of a new product line, The Belmont Series.
Belmont Series Molds are the hottest thing at Slumpy's right now! These molds feature key elements that will help improve slumping quality and extend the life of the mold.
Side walls and a thick and heavy clay body add strength and durability to the form. Large holes on the sides of the molds increase air circulation in the kiln, ensuring heat is evenly distributed throughout the mold and glass. Channels along the base of the form also assist in the circulation of air and heat distribution. In addition, holes are created in the mold during production, decreasing any tension caused by drilling into the hardened body. With over 50 exciting mold designs to choose from, you'll be happily fusing for months to come!

Slumpy's sectional molds featured in the Oct/Nov 2005 issue of Glass Craftsman Magazine
Brad Walker, author of Contemporary Warm Glass and founder of www.warmglass.com, provides a detailed article using Slumpy's SM-500 Veggie Tray Mold titled "Time, Temperature, and Span: secrets of successful slumping."
"One of the most difficult things for the beginning fuser to learn is the correct temperature for slumping. Slump too fast or too high and a project is liable to shift or distort. Slump too slow or too low and your patience wears thin before the piece is done. Finding that middle ground - the exact temperature and time that Goldilocks would describe as "Just right!" - is a big part of what separates the novice from the expert." >>view entire article
