SLUMPY'S PRIMER
Mixing Instructions
Transfer the amount of Primer that you need to mix into a container very carefully. Do not produce dust. Add water gradually as needed to the container, stirring slowly until a light creamy consistency is achieved. To insure a homogeneous mixture use a small glaze mixer attached to a hand drill.
Directions
After following the mixing instructions, shake and stir well before using. Thin with water if needed to improve brushability. Wipe one side of the kiln shelf and/or mold with a damp sponge to moisten it and wipe the dust off, then brush on three coats of Primer, letting it dry between coats. Place ware on the coated side of the shelf during firing or place glass on coated side of the mold during firing. Primer facilitates the release of the slumped/fused glass. New applications are necessary only where the protective coat has crumbled or has pulled away. It is recommended to scrape off the whole shelf, or clean the mold, and re-coat with a fresh covering of Primer from time to time.
Warning: Cancer agent. Inhalation of dust may produce cancer. Dust exposure by inhalation may cause lung damage. Contains: Crystalline Silica .
NOT FOR SPRAY APPLICATION. Mix and handle dry material in locally exhausting hood or an enclosed clay mixer. Use NIOSH-certified mask for dusts or mists. Use exhaust fan to assure adequate cross ventilation. Damp mop after use. Not for use by children. For further health information, contact a poison control center. Once Primer is in a liquid form, for brushing, it does not present any harm and is considered nontoxic.
